Microsoft has recently released a new major update for Microsoft Edge, with version 103 now available on all supported platforms.

Microsoft Edge stable version 103.0.1264.37 comes with four big changes.

The first of them is the ability to control automatic profile switching, as the browser can now figure out on its own when a link requires a specific personal or work profile. There’s a new policy specifically for this purpose, therefore making Microsoft Edge the best browser for pretty much everybody.

Then, the update adds a client certificate switcher, as well as improvements in terms of security.

“Browse the web with more reliable protection thanks to the rewritten Microsoft Defender SmartScreen library for Microsoft Edge on Windows. The NewSmartScreenLibraryEnabled policy will allow enterprise customers to continue using the legacy version of the library until it’s deprecated in Microsoft Edge version 105,” Microsoft explains in the changelog of the latest version.

Security updates also included

And last but not least, the update to version 103 includes a new work search banner in the Microsoft Edge address bar, with a new policy giving IT admins the power of enabling and disabling it for all clients.

“This banner helps you stay in the flow of your work by narrowing your search focus to work-only results. To see work focused results from your organization, select the banner at the beginning of your search. To be directed to your organization's workplace search results page, select the banner at any point of your search. Use the AddressBarMicrosoftSearchInBingProviderEnabled policy to turn this feature on or off,” the company explains.

Needless to say, all users are recommended to update to the latest stable version as soon as possible, not only to get the improvements mentioned above, but also because other security updates are included as well for all supported platforms.
