Registrations for the event will open in June, company says

Microsoft’s Inspire 2021 conference is set to take place July 14-15, and given the global health crisis is yet to be resolved, the company has no other option than to go for a digital-only event for the second time in a row.

Last year, the pandemic has forced pretty much all companies, not only those in the tech field, to switch from physical events to digital versions that allowed people to watch their product unveilings from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

And now it’s pretty clear the whole thing is far from over, so Microsoft wants to use a digital event approach for the 2021 Ignite as well.

The company has confirmed that it will open registration for this year’s Ignite in June.

“Microsoft Inspire will come to you as a digital event July 14-15, 2021. Registration will open in June 2021 and until then we can help you engage and connect with your global partner network throughout the year,” the company said in a short note on its website.

More digital events

Without a doubt, Microsoft’s Ignite wouldn’t be the only event that will stick with a digital session. Microsoft’s Build is also likely to happen online, just like its 2020 edition.

“As the world continues to respond to COVID-19, we are working to do our part by ensuring the safety of our employees, striving to protect the health and well-being of the communities in which we operate, and providing technology and resources to our customers to help them do their best work while remote,” Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella said in an announcement last year which unfortunately makes sense for 2021 too.

Other tech giants are likely to stick with digital events too, so expect similar announcements for Google and Apple rather sooner than later.
