The support for running Android apps on Windows 11 is one of the biggest new features in the operating system. And with the release of the recently announced Windows 11 2022 Update marked the expansion of this innovation to more regions.

As noted by onMSFT, Microsoft has updated the list of countries where the Amazon Appstore on Windows is support – the Amazon Appstore is the one providing users with access to Android apps on Windows 11 devices.

Microsoft says that in addition to the United States and Japan, the two regions where the feature was already available as a preview, users in Italy, Isle of Man, France, Germany, Belgium, Andorra, and Vatican City can all run Android apps on the desktop.

The full list of countries where Android apps are available on the Windows 11 desktop can be found here, and it includes a total of 31 regions.

Thousands of apps already available on Windows 11

Microsoft says there are already 20,000 apps and games developed for Android and which can run on a computer powered by Windows 11.

“Having the right content fuels a great PC experience. A year ago, we redesigned the Microsoft Store on Windows to be more open and easier-to-use – a one-stop shop for the apps, games and TV shows you love,” Microsoft explained in the original announcement of Windows 11 2022 Update earlier this month.

“Today, through our partnership with Amazon, we are expanding the Amazon Appstore Preview to international markets, bringing more than 20,000 Android™ apps and games to Windows 11 devices that meet the feature-specific hardware requirements. In addition to a growing catalog of apps and games, we are also excited to share that we are moving to the next stage of the Microsoft Store Ads pilot – helping developers get content in front of the right customers.”
