Collections go live in Edge for mobile devices

Collections is one of the features that users love the most in the desktop version of Microsoft Edge, as it makes it super-easy to collect and manage content found online right within the browser.

But as everybody knows already, Microsoft Edge is now a cross-platform browser that expands beyond the border of Windows 10, so the software giant is hard at work on bringing the same look and feel pretty much everywhere.

This includes Android and iOS, so today, Microsoft is announcing that the Collections feature is going live on mobile devices as well.

“Collections on mobile makes it easy to add more content and start new collections directly from your phone. We’ve specifically designed Collections on mobile so that you can easily jump between webpages and compare items in your collections. A collapsible Collections drawer allows you to view webpages alongside your collections for easier multi-tasking. Expand the drawer to see more of your collection or collapse it so you can focus on the webpage,” the software giant says.

Available for everybody

Just as expected, if you log in with the same Microsoft Account on your mobile device, you can have your collections synced between desktops and mobile phones, so the same content will be everywhere. This means that you can access the collections that you created on the desktop on your mobile too and make changes that will then be saved everywhere.

To try out Collections on your mobile device, what you need to do is install the latest version of Microsoft Edge. On Android, Microsoft Edge version 45.06.2.5042 is the one that you must get, while Apple users must download version 45.6.2 or higher on their iPhone to get this new feature.

Collections is already available today for everybody regardless of the mobile platform they run.
