Microsoft has recently announced a new event that would take place on April 5. The focus will be on how Windows powers the future of hybrid work, Microsoft explains, and will most likely come down to solutions exclusively aimed at businesses.

Microsoft obviously hasn’t shared too many specifics, but Panos Panay will be the one to provide us with a closer look at the company’s investments in hybrid work.

“See the Future of Hybrid Work, Powered by Windows. Excitement builds for Windows Powers the Future of Hybrid Work. Join Panos Panay, Windows Executive Vice President & Chief Product Officer, and dive into the exciting future of hybrid work. Find out how Windows propels the business of our customers forward from the client to the cloud. Plus, three break-out sessions demo Windows tools for productivity and collaboration, management, and security,” Microsoft says.

No Windows 11 announcements

Given this new event will be focused specifically on hybrid work, you shouldn’t expect any Windows 11 announcements.

Microsoft will most likely introduce a new version of the operating system later this year, as the focus right now is on completing the rollout to all eligible devices.

This is projected to happen by the summer of the year, and Microsoft says the rollout has entered the final stage.

“The upgrade offer to Windows 11 is entering its final phase of availability and is designated for broad deployment for eligible devices*. Since the launch of Windows 11 in October, we have seen strong demand and preference for Windows 11 with people upgrading their eligible PCs at twice the rate we saw for Windows 10. Based on this trend, we are advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we originally announced and entering the final phase of availability for Windows 11 ahead of our initial plan of mid-2022,” the company said back in January.
