Microsoft has recently announced a new Windows feature experience pack, this time for users who are part of the Windows Insider program and running preview builds in the Beta and Release Preview channels.

The new Windows Feature Experience Pack version is 120.2212.3920.0, and it comes as an optional update for those who are currently in the Release Preview channel.

According to Microsoft, there’s just one important fix in this update, as it resolves an issue causing the touch keyboard to not display when invoked.

Other than that, it’s quite a minor release, but at the same time, it also helps Microsoft test this new servicing method relying on Windows Feature Experience Packs.

“As a reminder – we are testing this new process out with Insiders to deliver new feature improvements to customers outside of major Windows 10 feature updates. Right now, we are starting out with a really scoped set of features and improvements. Over time, we hope to expand the scope and the frequency of releases in the future. Eventually, these Windows Feature Experience Pack updates will get folded into the already existing servicing process for Windows 10 and delivered to customers that way through Windows Update,” Microsoft explains.

Windows 11 preview builds coming

Windows insiders are very likely to receive much bigger updates beginning this week, as Microsoft is getting ready to announce Windows 11 at a dedicated event on June 24.

In other words, those who are part of the Dev channel in the Insider program will most likely be provided with preview builds allowing them to test-drive Windows 11 and therefore get a taste of what’s to come in the next operating system early.

According to the standard release calendar, Windows 11 is projected to see the daylight in the fall of the year, though full information will be shared by Microsoft at this week’s event.
