It’s currently available only for select insiders

Everybody knows already that Android devices feel at home on modern Windows thanks to the Your Phone app, but this doesn’t necessarily Microsoft isn’t working on a series of improvements.

It does, and the latest preview build of Windows 11 actually includes some good news on this front.

Windows 11 build 22533, which is now available for users in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider program, introduces a new calling experience via the Your Phone app.

Microsoft is therefore introducing a new UI that powers a dedicated window for active calls, with the UI overall sporting updating visuals that make more sense for a phone call.

Available right now for insiders

Microsoft says this new feature will eventually become available for all Windows 11 testers running preview builds in the Dev channel, with the first users to get it later this week.

“This week we are beginning to roll out a new Calls experience for the Your Phone app on Windows 11. This update will be available to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. This update includes a new in-progress call window with updated icons, fonts, and other UI changes that align with the improved design of Windows 11. Placing calls with the Your Phone app should still work as before with this new UI! Please try it out and share any comments with us via Feedback Hub under Apps > Your Phone,” Microsoft explains.

Needless to say, there’s no ETA as to when this new feature could go live for everybody out there, but Microsoft is clearly taking its time to make sure everything is running properly. This is good news after all, especially given Android devices and Windows 11 are now a match made in heaven, with Microsoft now planning to allow mobile apps to run on the operating system without the need for any third-party software.
