Microsoft has recently announced a new important update for Microsoft Teams, its cloud-based solution whose adoption truly skyrocketed in the last few months.

More specifically, the Redmond-based tech giant says it’s updating the default and dark themes in Microsoft Teams with new background colors and icons in order to align with the overall Microsoft 365 design.

The company explains that this rollout is projected to kick off in November, so it won’t be long until the visual refresh happens on all supported platforms.

The Microsoft 365 vision that the Redmond-based software giant is pointing to was announced in July this year, and it obviously includes Fluent Design, the new language that’s being expanded everywhere across Microsoft’s portfolio.

“The next wave of Microsoft 365 UX changes will go even further by fading brand colors from app headers and exploring adaptive commanding. A flexible ribbon that progressively discloses contextually relevant commands at the right time just where you need them,” Microsoft explains.

“We’ll further advance our seamless, cross-suite Search to bring relevant information to your fingertips, and myriad forthcoming experiences will leverage Fluid Frameworks. Microsoft 365 will bring the power of Office to wherever you are, ensuring you won’t need to interrupt your creative process to open a different tool.”

Rising adoption of Microsoft Teams

The adoption of Microsoft Teams has truly skyrocketed in the last few months because of the huge number of companies that decided to allow its employees to work from home due to the health crisis. As a result, the software giant has promised to further improve the experience with Teams, confirming that the number of users reached 75 million thanks to an impressive migration to its product.

Additional improvements are also on their way to Microsoft Teams, and more information is available in the roadmap that we linked to above.
