Microsoft says it’s looking into the problem already

If Microsoft 365 services aren’t working for you today, you’re not alone. This is because of an outage that seems to affect several services that are part of the platform, mostly in Europe and North America.

Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Outlook on the Web, SharePoint Online and other services are experiencing connection problems, with some users in Asia and the Middle East apparently impacted as well.

The Redmond-based software giant has already acknowledged the problems, explaining that it’s already investigating, though at this point, estimating when a fix could be released is impossible.

“We're investigating an issue in which some users are experiencing delays or connection issues when accessing the Exchange Online service. Please see EX394347 in the admin center for more information. We've determined multiple Microsoft 365 services are experiencing delays, connection and search issues and are investigating the cause of this. Updates can be found in the admin center under EX394347 and MO394389,” the company said in a series of tweets earlier today.

“We've identified that our traffic management infrastructure is not working as expected. We've successfully rerouted traffic, and we're seeing an improvement in service availability. Updates are available in the admin center under EX394347 and MO394389. We’re continuing to see improvement in availability across the affected services, with some services reporting full recovery. More information can be found in the admin center under EX394347 and MO394389.”

No ETA for the fix just yet

Microsoft 365 subscribers are complaining on Twitter that the outage has made it impossible for their companies and employees to connect to applications like Microsoft Teams, therefore impacting their productivity in a substantial manner.

Microsoft is obviously working around the clock on coming up with a fix, and it shouldn’t take too long before the outage is resolved.

You can track the progress in the admin center, but again, an ETA isn’t yet available at this point.
