Publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games have just announced the second major expansion for Metro Exodus, Sam's Story will be launched on February 11 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The upcoming DLC will be available for purchase on day launch and it's included in the Metro Exodus Expansion Pass, along with the first DLC, The Two Colonels.

The expansion not only includes a new story, but also new enemies and weapons. Sam’s Story follows former US Marine Sam, a Spartan Ranger who has worked under Colonel Miller since the nuclear war devastated Moscow, and followed Artyom in search of a world outside of the Metro.

Sam's main goal is to find a way back to the USA. After he departs from the Aurora to make his way through Vladivostok’s tsunami-ravaged harbors, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts, he discovers that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.

As expected, the next piece of the Metro universe offers a ‘sandbox survival’ gaming experience, even though the core of the expansion remains the story. We're not sure how long it will take players to finish the new DLC, but The Two Colonels takes roughly 3 hours to complete, a bit on the low side considering the price (€8 / $8).

What we can be sure of is that 4A Games will deliver the same gripping storyline that made the series popular among games. Not to mention that we get to meet new characters, use new weapons and face many mutant variants.

No price has been announced for Sam's Story DLC, but the expansion pass still costs €25 / $25 and the first expansion, The Two Colonels is just €8 / $8. These are the only two story-driven DLC for Metro Exodus included in the expansion pass, but other types of content might be added.
