Meizu has already released the M2 Note and MX5 Android smartphones earlier this year, but the Chinese company won't stop launching new devices in 2015 yet.

The successor to the popular Meizu M1 has been rumored for quite a while now, but a release date has yet to be confirmed. The good news is that reports coming from China claim the M2 will be officially unveiled later this month.

Although details on pricing options and availability are not available yet, rumor has it that Meizu M2 will be launched in China on July 28.

It's unclear whether or not the smartphone will go on sale on the same day or Meizu will delay its availability by a couple of days or weeks.

We also don't know whether Meizu plans to launch one or more M2 models since previous leaks pointed to different storage amounts for the smartphone.

Either way, we're pretty sure that the M2 will come packed with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB), just like its predecessor.

MicroSD card slot - yes, removable battery - no?

Some other specs that have been previously “confirmed” by the rumor mill include a powerful 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB storage.

We also know that Meizu M2 should sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, though the resolution of the screen is still a mystery.

On the back, the smartphone is said to pack a 13-megapixel photo snapper, but there's no mention of front-facing camera.

Obviously, there will be a selfie camera included as well, but the amount of megapixels is unknown for the moment.

Meizu M2 is expected to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Flyme UI on top.

Although there's a high-chance the M2 will come with microSD card slot included, the smartphone's battery is likely to be non-removable.
