The Arch Linux-based Manjaro 20.0 Lysia is now available for download after only two months of development.

It goes without saying that there are so many new things in this release, and downloading Manjaro 20.0 Lysia is the easiest way to try them all.

First and foremost, the new version continues to be available in three editions, namely Xfce, KDE, and Gnome, each coinge with their own series of improvements.

For example, the Xfce edition ships with version 4.14 of the desktop environment, but also introduces a new theme called Matcha, as well as a new Display-Profiles feature that makes it possible to store multiple profiles for a configured display.

The KDE version, on the other hand, relies on Plasma 5.18 and comes with Breath2 themes and the latest KDE Apps 20.04. Other improvements, such as the updates to Kate and the introduction of Plasma-Simplemenu, are also offered in this build.

Linux kernel 5.6

And then, it’s the Gnome version that ships with the 3.36 series and introduces new features.

“GNOME shell extensions are now managed using a new Extensions app which handles updating, configuring and removing or disabling extensions. A Do Not Disturb button was added to the notifications popover. By default our own dynamic wallpaper changes its colour theme throughout the day. Additionally we updated GDM and improved our Gnome-Layout-Switcher a lot. We updated our list of pre-installed packages, zsh is the new default shell and applications are now sorted in folders in a clean app drawer,” the Manjaro team said about the KDE Gnome version.

Manjaro 20.0 Lysia uses the Linux kernel version 5.6 and includes all the latest drivers that were available when the final build was compiled. In other words, you should get the best and fully up-to-date experience regardless of the hardware that you use to run the new Manjaro version.
