Bandai Namco really wants you to try out Man of Medan, the first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, so the publisher launched a so-called Friend's Pass. Starting this week and until January 6, 2020, everyone who purchases – or has already purchased – Man of Medan will receive one complimentary Friend's Pass.

The Friend's Pass allows players to offer one full playthrough of Shared Story Mode to a friend who doesn't own the full game. The new feature unlocked with the latest update, so make sure you have the newest version of Man of Medan installed before looking for the Friend's Pass.

In the main menu, you'll notice a new Shared Story mode, which will allow you to invite your friend to play the game. To be able to accept the invitation and start playing, your friend must have downloaded the trial version of Man of Medan, which is already available in the PS Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam.

You can only gift one Friend's Pass, so once it's consumed it will no longer be available. To make things even more appealing, developer Supermassive Games announced that the Curator's Cut, which was previously an exclusive pre-order bonus, will be available for everyone to download for free.

The Curator's Cut lets players experience an alternative version of the story which was previously unavailable in the first playthrough. If you're already finished the game, the Curator's Cut will allow you to play new scenes, receive new information, make new choices that affect the story and see the game through different characters' eyes.

To sum it up, new players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One must download the Man of Medan Free Trial to be able to redeem the Friend's Pass. Keep in mind that both players will need a PS Plus account to play Shared Story Mode. If you'd rather play on PC, you'll receive a code that you can share with a friend.
