Microsoft relaunches the Mac vs. PC campaign

There are moments when the long-distance fight between Microsoft and Apple gets really exciting for us, the fanboys who wait on the sidelines eating popcorn and waiting for the two companies to make their moves.

And today, it’s that moment once again, as the software giant Microsoft has decided to relaunch the Mac vs. PC campaign with a modern and fresh approach.

The guy you see in the photo is called Mackenzie Book, and if you haven’t figured it out already, friends call him Mac Book.

So when planning a new ad for the Surface Laptop 2, Microsoft believed Mac Book is just the right man for the job because, you know, Mac Book recommending a Microsoft Surface isn’t something you hear every day.

Mac Book likes the Microsoft Surface Laptop

The ad, which you can see below, has Mac Book claiming the Surface Laptop lasts longer, is faster, and has a “better touchscreen,” because no, MacBooks don’t even have touchscreens. Overall, Mac Book says you should get a Surface Laptop and not a… MacBook.

While the ad itself is pretty funny mostly because of the name of the guy starring in it, I can’t help but applaud the software giant for the effort of actually finding someone who is called Mac Book.

By the looks of things, this guy is based in Australia, so Microsoft clearly did a lot of research before tracking him down and convincing him to star in a new Surface ad. Of course, money helped a lot, that’s for sure, but it’s all worth it given the message that the ad promotes.

Now it’s Apple’s turn to come up with something at least as funny as Mac Book recommending the Surface Laptop, and given new MacBooks are expected in the fall, the Cupertino-based tech giant would better start working on it.
