This is an alternative to the Your Phone app on Windows 10

Microsoft’s Your Phone app has become an essential part of so many Windows 10 users’ app arsenal, simply because it allows them to pair their Android devices with PCs.

In other words, if you own a compatible Android phone, such as Samsung’s flagships, you can now sync the mobile device with the Windows 10 device and get access to certain content, such as messages, the gallery, and even run Android apps right on the desktop.

LG’s mobile phones aren’t part of the fun, as they’re currently unsupported, but it looks like the phone maker itself doesn’t want to wait for Microsoft to bring such capabilities to its devices.

So right now, the company is working on its own application to sync LG phones with Windows 10 devices, and the first version is already live in the Microsoft Store.

Screen mirroring also supported

Called Virtoo by LG, the app relies on Bluetooth to pair PCs and smartphones and then provide users with access to certain capabilities right from the computer.

“Virtoo by LG is a smartphone app for LG PC users. It allows a Bluetooth connection between a smartphone and a PC to enable users to use various smartphone functions on the PC. Use Virtoo by LG to enjoy a more comfortable computing environment,” the app description reads.

However, worth knowing is that not all models and features are available for everybody, so some limitations are still in place on LG devices, even with a dedicated app to sync with Windows 10 devices.

The app allows users to send messages from the PC, access the media stored on the mobile device, make phone calls, and see all contacts saved in the address book. Furthermore, it allows for screen mirroring when a supported device is connected to Windows 10.
