14 DAY TRIAL // Those of you who own an LG G3 might remember that we reported back in May about the smartphone's numerous issues after it had received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Verizon customers had been hit the hardest as their phones experienced battery drainage, Wi-Fi stability issues and even random restarts.
Obviously, this was LG's fault as the South Korean company did not seem to test the update enough and released a faulty one which broke some of the most important features of the phone.
Fast forward a few months and it looks like LG has finally found the time and resources to develop a fix for the issues the first update brought.
However, we don't have any confirmation that the new update rolled out by Verizon beginning this week will fix all the issues the LG G3 users have been complaining about since Lollipop landed on their smartphones.
That being said, here is what you should expect from software update VS98524B or “24B” for Verizon's LG G3 devices.
Android 5.1 Lollipop is still MIA for LG G3 owners at Verizon
First of all, the changelog mentions some Bluetooth-related changes, such as a new Bluetooth button that has been added on the in-call screen to improve user experience. Also the Add call button has been relocated under the Settings Menu.
The update also provides Native “Interruptions” feature while maintaining LG UI component and label style. The on-going notification is now provided when the LG G3 is either set to No interruptions or Priority Only.
Furthermore, Interruptions menu is now available under the Quick settings, which feature the following options:
- “None” which will stop the LG G3 from sounding and all types of notifications with alarms. - “Priority” which allows users to set what apps, and which calendar events and messages come through. - “All” which allows all notifications to come through.
A new Advanced Calling settings has been added which contains the following options: Advanced Calling, HD Voice and Video calling.
Last but not least, the update should disable the video calling option if the user is not subscribed for LTE Video Calling.
