We’ve known for a while that new iPhones were coming, and the closer we get to the September unveiling, the more information emerges on what we’re going to get.

A new leak that comes via DuanRui provides us with a closer look at what seem to be cases designed for the new iPhone 14 series, and just as expected, an all-new larger model is also included.

This is the iPhone 14 Max, often referred to as iPhone 14 Plus. Supposed to serve as a larger version of the standard iPhone 14, the new model will come with a 6.7-inch display, so it’ll have the same dimensions as the Pro Max.

As you can see in this recent leak, the iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro Max do look like they have the same size, though on the other hand, there’s an obvious difference on the back. The camera setup appears to be similar to the one on the iPhone 13.

Launch due in September

With the introduction of the iPhone 14 Max/Plus, Apple is also killing off the 5.4-inch form factor, as the company isn’t pleased with how the mini has been selling so far. This means Apple is killing its second smallest iPhone, with the iPhone SE to remain the only true small model in the company’s lineup.

At this point, nothing is confirmed, but it’s pretty clear already that the iPhone mini is going away to make room for the all-new Plus.

It remains to be seen if a new large iPhone is a smart strategy, but there’s a chance many people would buy the Plus for the big display, especially if they don’t want the premium capabilities of a Pro.

The launch of the new models will take place in September, with the sales to kick off later the same month.
