The KDE Project announced the general availability of the first of three maintenance updates to the recently released KDE Applications 19.04 open-source software suite series.

Coming three weeks after the April 18th release of the KDE Applications 19.04 software suite, the KDE Applications 19.04.1 point release contains numerous bug fixes and translation updates for various of the included apps, including Ark, Cantor,  Dolphin, Kdenlive, Kontact, Spectacle, and Umbrello.

More than 125 changes are included in the KDE Applications 19.04.1 stability release, improving various features like tagging of files on the desktop so it no longer end up with a truncated tag name, KMail's text sharing plugin so it no longer crash, and numerous regressions in the Kdenlive video editor.

The Ark archive manager and Dolphin file manager can now be added as favorite in the GNOME desktop environment, the Spectacle screenshot utility now sets the compression level to 50 for PNG files, and the Okular image viewer is now compatible with Qt 5.10 or later and poppler 0.58 or higher. A complete changelog is available here for more details.

KDE Applications 19.04.2 coming on June 6th

The release cycle of the KDE Applications 19.04 software suite will continue with the second stability update, KDE Applications 19.04.2, which is currently scheduled for next month on June 6th. After that, one more such point release will be published, KDE Applications 19.04.3, expected to arrive on July 11th.

In the meantime, we recommend all users of the KDE Applications 19.04 software suite to update their installations to the KDE Applications 19.04.1 point release as soon as possible, or as soon as the packages arrive in the stable software repositories of their favorite GNU/Linux distributions.
