Great news for John Wick fans, as the video game set in the same universe as the movie series, will be coming to console after being released on PC last year. Dubbed John Wick Hex, the game was rated as fairly decent by critics after its PC launch, so come May 5, PlayStation 4 players will be able to get a taste of John Wick's action as well.

Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer Bithell Games have just announced John Wick Hex will be released for PlayStation 4 on May 5. The game costs $20 / £16 and will be available via the PlayStation Store. PC players can pick this one up exclusive via the Epic Games Store.

John Wick Hex mixes elements of action and strategy genres. It includes a new storyline that expands on the John Wick universe and features unique graphic noir art design. Not to mention that the actors in the movie series will reprise their roles in the video game, such as Ian McShane and Lance Reddick.

Troy Baker is also one of the voice actors starring in John Wick Hex. As far as the soundtrack goes, the music is composed by Grammy-nominated compose Austin Wintory (Journey, Flow, the Banner Saga series).

The game is trying to capture the feel of the unique tactical combat from the films and blurs the line between the strategy and action video game genres. If you've played games like Hotline Miami and Superhot, you'll have a much easier time getting used to John Wick Hex's combat rules.

For those who haven't played either of the two games (or any other that features the same gameplay style), in John Wick Hex each action has its own risks and consequences, and every weapon changes the tactics at hand. More importantly, ammo is limited and realistically simulated, so you'll have to time your reloads and make each choice count.
