Apple has started shipping out the first iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max units, with the devices to arrive at customers’ doors on Friday.

A report from MacRumors indicates that many of the orders are now on their way to buyers, and while the packages are still somewhere in China, they should land in the United States in the next 48 hours.

Apple started the pre-order program for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 on Friday, while deliveries are set to start on Friday.

Needless to say, with all customers eager to get their new iPhones on Friday, Apple is working around the clock to meet expectations, so this timing makes perfect sense.

iPhone XS waiting times

One particular tidbit that’s worth having in mind is that you can still get an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max on Friday even if you didn’t pre-order one.

Apple will have stock for walk-in customers, so although each Apple Store is likely to be pretty crowded on Friday, there’s a chance that you may be able to purchase the device in person.

However, also keep in mind that some customers have opted for store pick-up, so choose the hours to go to the Apple Store wisely.

At this point, shipping times are still within a one-month limit, so if you purchase the device today online, you may still receive it at some point in the next few weeks.

Apple typically manages to reduce waiting times substantially after new iPhones go on sale, especially as demand is aligned with production, and this is expected to happen this year as well. This means that some of the units supposed to ship in one month could actually arrive at your door faster than estimated, as more phones are built at Apple’s suppliers.
