Apple recently updated its website for South American customers with information on the price and launch date of its 10th anniversary iPhone in Brazil, Chile, and Colombia.

Apple will make its latest flagship device available to markets in South America next month. The change was spotted first by MacRumors on Apple's website, which shows December 8 as the launch date for its iPhone X smartphone in Brazil, as well as December 1 for Colombia and December 7 for Chile.

However, if you click on the "Buy" button, you should first sit down and take a deep breath, because Apple's online store shows a price tag of R$ 6.999 Brazilian Real, which means about $2,170 USD, twice as much as the handset costs in the United States of America and other parts of the world.

The country's 60% duty on imported products priced up to $3,000 USD and stricter labor laws contribute to the fact that Apple's products cost so much in Brazil compared to the US. At the moment there's no information about the price of the iPhone X in Colombia, nor Chile, but we expect that info to be available soon.

iPhone X launches November 24 in other parts of the world

Meanwhile, Apple will launch the iPhone X in other parts of the world, starting today with Israel. The launch will continue tomorrow, Friday, November 24, 2017, in Albania, Bosnia, Cambodia, Kosovo, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Montenegro, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

In South Korea, unfortunately, the company's offices were raided earlier this week by local authorities who raised questions about Apple's business practices. We'll see tomorrow if the launch of the iPhone X goes according to plan and no sudden changes occur. iPhone X was initially launched on November 3, 2017.
