Designer imagines what the new iPhone could look like

Apple is expected to completely overhaul the iPhone for the 2017 generation given the fact that this model celebrates the 10th anniversary of this device, but with the company remaining completely tight-lipped on its plans, it’s only up to designers to imagine what the final product could look like.

This is exactly what Behance designer Imran Taylor did with the iPhone X, a concept which, as you can easily guess, imagines the model marking the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.

First and foremost, the design of the iPhone would be substantially improved, and the device would be thinner than ever at just 6.9mm. A 5.8-inch curved OLED display would be installed (there’s a good chance that this might actually happen, according to the latest rumors), and Apple would use several exquisite materials, such as sapphire glass and Zirconia ceramic.

Overall, in terms of looks, the iPhone X looks inspired from the iPhone 4, and it comes with two color options, namely Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.

iPhone X features

Obviously, the designer also imagined several new features that would be available on the 10th anniversary iPhone, including wireless charging - a thing that’s actually very unlikely to be offered on the next generation given the recent rumors.

Also, the concept brings forward a feature that actually sounds interesting: a touch-sensitive lower bezel that would support different gestures, making it easier for users to perform certain tasks. This bezel could also include 3D Touch support for additional input.

Of course, this is just the result of this designer’s imagination, and there’s a good chance that (almost) nothing presented here would make its way to the new iPhone. But this concept is once again living proof that bigger changes are needed on the iPhone, and Apple needs to deliver them on this special occasion next year.

For what it’s worth, the next iPhone is projected to launch in September 2017, so expect more info to emerge in the meantime.
