Concept envisions a sliding iPhone for the iPhone 13 lineup

Apple is projected to take the wraps off the iPhone 12 in September, with sales to begin either later the same month or with a small delay caused by the current global health crisis that previously hit some suppliers.

But in addition to the iPhone 12, it’s not a secret that Apple is already planning in advance, so while the next-generation model is the one that so many people are eagerly waiting for, the iPhone 13 might bring so many more changes.

For example, people familiar with the matter have hinted at two major news for the 2021 iPhone. One of them is port-less iPhone that comes without Lightning or any other connector, while the second indicates that the next-year lineup could be the one to bring a foldable iPhone.

Sliding iPhone

And now a concept imagines another big change that could happen in the 2021 iPhone series.

It’s the so-called iPhone Slide Pro, a sliding iPhone 13 model that comes with two different screens for a form factor that we’ve also seen before but which Apple would adopt for increased screen estate.

At first glance, this is quite an interesting idea, but I really doubt Apple would ever go for such an approach. The concept, which was created by ConceptsiPhone, also envisions other upgrades, some of which could actually make their way to the iPhone at some point, including several cameras and an overall refined design.

But a sliding iPhone is something that I wouldn’t necessarily hold my breath for, as this is a too dramatic change that Apple is unlikely to be a big fan of. For now, the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to stick with the existing form factor that would be further tweaked with subtle refinements, and if there’s any big news coming on the iPhone front, it’s probably the foldable model.
