The device now costs only $449 from the Apple Store

If you’re in the market looking for a new iPhone but don’t want to spend a fortune on the just-announced iPhone 11, then the title certainly sounds interesting.

And it should because the iPhone 8 has really reached its lower price ever, as it’s available from the Apple Store from just $449. This means the last iPhone with Touch ID in the home button received a pretty generous discount, something that Apple doesn’t typically agree with, no matter if the devices included in the promo are one or two years old.

So why should you get an iPhone 8 now when Apple has just announced a new-generation iPhone?

iPhone 8 is, as I said earlier, the last iPhone that comes with a fingerprint sensor, and while its hardware is two-years-old, it’s not outdated just yet.

iPhone 8 is also expected to help Apple build a new iPhone SE, which could go live as soon as the spring of 2020. If these reports are true, the iPhone SE 2 could look and feel like the iPhone 8, featuring a 4.7-inch LCD screen, Touch ID, and a single camera.

More like a refreshed iPhone 8, this second iPhone SE could also be very affordable, as Apple wants to keep it close to the price tag of the current model.

Other price cuts

In addition to the discounted iPhone 8, Apple is also offering a price cut for the iPhone XR, which itself is getting more affordable to make room for iPhone 11 (the model that takes its place).

iPhone XR now starts at $599, down $150 from the original price of $749 that was announced last year when the device went on sale.

And last but not least, Apple reduced the price of the 1TB iPad Pro by no less than $200, which means that the device now costs $1,349 if you choose the 11-inch model and $1,549 for the 12.9-inch configuration.
