And the Pro could embrace the same approach too

Apple’s upcoming iPhone generation, which according to the company’s typical release calendar should smile in front of the audience in September, will come with lots of changes, including USB-C, Dynamic Island on all models, and capacitive buttons at least on the Pro models.

But according to a recent report, there is more to come on this new iPhone series.

One of the biggest upgrades concerns the display. As it turns out, Apple plans to increase the display size of the smallest iPhones, so the standard iPhone and possibly the iPhone 15 Pro will come with a 6.2-inch screen.

At this point, both models are fitted with a 6.1-inch display.

The change isn’t going to be huge, and Apple will likely offer the same screen resolution, but it could eventually help the iPhone increase the available screen-to-body ratio in a way that allows the device to use the available display estate more effectively.

The display size of the iPhone Plus and the Pro Max is likely to stay unchanged.

Other than that, probably the biggest change in terms of displays is the addition of Dynamic Island on all iPhone models.

The standard devices will give up on the notch once and for all, so the Dynamic Island is Apple’s bit bet in the long term. Apple wants to make this feature more useful, but before it can do that, it needs the proper developer support. And this wouldn’t be possible unless the feature is available across the entire range.

For the time being, it’s better to take such details with a pinch of salt, especially as Apple is still in the early phases when it comes to the work on iPhone 15. This means certain details, including even the display size, can change overnight if something doesn’t work as planned.
