Getting an iPhone for Christmas is much harder

If you planned to get a new iPhone 14 for Christmas, doing it will be much harder than you’d be tempted to believe due to inventory issues.

Apple has already confirmed that it’s struggling with constrained supply, and a report from MacRumors reveals that the waiting times for the Pro models have reached six weeks.

In other words, if you order a new iPhone 14 Pro today, it would only arrive on December 27, according to the Apple Store site in the United States. This means you won’t be getting it before Christmas.

Apple explained in the original announcement that the iPhone 14 Pro inventory is mostly impacted by the lockdowns happening in China and which hit one of the main assembly facilities in the country.

“COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain,” Apple said.

The company did acknowledge that the waiting times could increase substantially, and as it turns out, Apple needs more time to deal with this problem.

“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products. We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker,” Apple said.

Customers of the standard iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus receive the devices much faster.
