While Apple has recently decided to boost the production of the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max, therefore suggesting that its supply chain is recovering, the company is also preparing for the debut of a new-generation model in the fall.

As it happens every year, September will witness the unveiling of a new iPhone family, and just like in 2021, we’re going to get four different models.

But before detailing some of the changes that will see the daylight this year, here’s something coming from the rumor mill thanks to a post on Weibo.

The iPhone 14 lineup could also include a new color option for the Pro models. The new version could be purple, and if this rumor is accurate, then it could be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Four models, notch going away from Pro models

The purple iPhone would be sold alongside the existing versions, including silver, graphite, and silver gold. Some say that purple would also be used on the standard iPhones, but without a doubt, everything is so sketchy right now that you’d better not take anything for granted just yet.

As for the iPhone 14 lineup, Apple will kill off the iPhone mini and introduce a new 6.7-inch size called iPhone 14 Max. It will essentially be a larger version of the iPhone 14, sporting a screen that’s just as big as the one on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

People familiar with the matter said the notch would be going away from the Pro models, with Apple to use a punch-hole design similar to the one on other Android devices. The standard models, namely the iPhone 14 and the all-new iPhone 14 Max, would continue to use the notch.
