So Apple has already increased orders by 30%

Just like the rest of the tech industry, Apple is also struggling with the component shortage, so the sales of the new iPhone models have been substantially impacted.

In other words, while the demand for the iPhone 13 is still strong, Apple can’t build enough devices, so right now, customers just have to accept lengthy waiting times that sometimes push them to competing products.

Apple is obviously struggling to make more iPhones available for customers, but on the other hand, it looks like many people just prefer to delay the purchase of a new phone during the holidays. According to a recent report, Apple has experienced weaker demand during the holiday season, simply because the waiting times have convinced many customers to delay the purchase of a new iPhone.

Sales increase expected in 3, 2, 1

On the other hand, Digitimes indicates via its typical supply chain sources that Apple plans to increase iPhone orders by no less than 30 percent in the first months of 2022. This means Apple itself is also expecting more and more customers to order a new iPhone 13 early next year, and this makes perfect sense, especially if some of them have indeed delayed the acquisition of a smartphone during the holiday season.

The Cupertino-based tech giant reportedly expects to sell 300 million iPhones next year, but the figure doesn’t only include the iPhone 13. The company is projected to take the wraps off a new generation in September, and this time, the iPhone 14 is expected to sport very compelling upgrades that would substantially increase sales.

It remains to be seen if Apple manages to deal with the ridiculous waiting times for a new iPhone, but for the time being, it just seems like most people are waiting for the first months of 2022 to purchase a new device.
