Kantar claims the iPhone 12 mini has its very own niche

We’ve known for a while that not everybody likes large phones, and Apple’s iPhone SE is the living proof in this regard.

But the Cupertino-based tech giant, however, has decided to push things even further this fall with the debut of the iPhone 12 mini, a modern iPhone that boasts a 5.4-inch display and comes with all the capabilities of its more expensive siblings.

Including 5G support, that is, which makes it one of the best small phones currently on the market with such capabilities.

Kantar believes that Apple is playing the right card with the iPhone 12 mini, especially because a substantial number of people still purchase smartphones based on their dimensions.

iPhone 12 mini going on sale next month

“Unlike previous flagships, iPhone 12 mini gives customers all of the latest specifications and 5G capability, but in a smaller form factor at lower cost, in-line with many areas of market growth. While share growth over the last couple of years has been for larger screen sizes, Apple is tackling both ends of the spectrum with this launch, as at least a third of smartphones owned in all markets except China have a screen size less than 5.5” and over 12% buyers chose their model specifically for “how it fits in my hand/pocket,” Kantar says.

iPhone 12 mini, however, isn’t available for pre-order just now, with sales to kick off in November alongside the new iPhone 12 Pro Max.

However, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino-based tech giant expects the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 to sell better than all the other models in the 2020 lineups, despite not being the most affordable options. A clear picture of how everything is going will be available when all models start shipping to customers worldwide.
