Apple said the iPhone 12 would provide great battery life

Apple has made it a hobby to praise the battery capabilities of each new iPhone generation, and the recently announced iPhone 12 makes no exception.

On the other hand, while the Cupertino-based tech giant always claims that its devices feature battery improvements, the company never shares the actual specs of the batteries powering its models. So our only proof in this regard comes via teardown or official documents.

And this is the case today for the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini.

First of all, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, which is the successor to the iPhone 12 and is already available for pre-order today.

According to ANATEL certifications, the iPhone 12 Pro comes with a 2,815 mAh battery, and the bad news is that it’s a smaller unit than on the iPhone 11. Apple, however, is supposed to offer similar battery life, most likely thanks to heavy software optimizations. According to the Cupertino-based tech giant, iPhone 12 should offer 17 hours of video playback.

Large iPhone 12 mini battery

And then, it’s the all-new iPhone 12 mini, the 5.4-inch device that will go on sale in early November. Apple claims this device should offer 15 hours of video playback. But according to the said documents, the iPhone 12 mini comes with a 2,227 mAh battery, and the good news this time is that it’s a larger unit as compared to the 4.7-inch iPhone SE that launched earlier this year.

This makes total sense, especially because the iPhone 12 mini comes with a larger display.

No details are available right now on the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but additional info should surface in the coming days and weeks. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is projected to go on sale next month alongside the iPhone 12 mini.
