Apple will take the wraps off the new iPhone generation on September 10, and according to a new “leak” today, the company plans to begin taking pre-orders for these fresh models three days later on September 13.

The information comes from a tipster who shared the dates with MacRumors, but on the other hand, the September 13 start of pre-orders isn’t by any means surprising.

Apple typically begins taking pre-orders for new products, be they iPhones, MacBooks, or Apple Watch models, on the first Friday after the official unveiling. Sales in retail stores and shipments kick off a week later on Friday as well.

This means that the iPhone 11 should become available for pre-ordering on September 13, while the first units should start shipping to customers on September 20.

2019 iPhone trio

The only unknown bit of information right now is whether Apple plans to start selling all new iPhones simultaneously or some sort of delay could take place. Most often, the Cupertino-based tech giant begins shipping all iPhone models that it unveils at the same time, but two years ago, iPhone X launched with approximately a month delay versus the other models.

This year’s iPhone trio will include upgrades for the current devices, which means we’re going to get improved versions of the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

The names are yet to be confirmed, but recent leaks indicated they could be called iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, with iPhone 11 serving as direct successor to the iPhone XR.

As far as the upgrades happening on these models are concerned, Apple will use a new A13 chip on all of them, and the amount of RAM could be increased to 4GB. iPhone 11 Pro Max, if this is indeed the name the XS Max successor will use, will also come with a triple-camera configuration on the back.
