Apple has recently released a new iOS 15 update, so users are now finally allowed to unlock their iPhones with Face ID even when wearing a mask.

Furthermore, the Cupertino-based tech giant has issued a fix for battery draining issues on iOS, so overall, the company is working around the clock on refining the experience with this operating system on all fronts.

On the other hand, it’s also not a secret that Apple is preparing something big in terms of iOS updates. It’s iOS 16, the next major version of the operating system and which is expected to see the daylight in September, as per Apple’s typical release candidate.

iOS 16 preview at WWDC

While everybody is waiting to get more information on what’s to come in iOS 16, it looks like Apple has already started testing the new operating system version online.

LetemSvetemApplem revealed recently that it found evidence iOS 16 is being tested out in the wild, though this happens later than usual. iOS 15 was first spotted in March, so iOS 16 going online in April could signal some problems that Apple has encountered during the development process.

A preview of iOS 16 is expected to be offered at WWDC, with a beta to then be shipped to developers and public testers shortly after the event.

At this point, it’s still too early to discuss what iOS 16 is supposed to bring new to the table, but it’s believed this new operating system update could give up on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In other words, the only devices that will run iOS 16 will be the iPhone 7 and newer.

Of course, everything is still in the rumor stage for now, so you’d better not take everything for granted until Apple comes up with some official information.
