Apple has confirmed at the company’s September 14 event that iOS 15 will be released on Monday for all supported devices.

Furthermore, the Cupertino-based tech giant rolled out iOS 15 RC for developers, therefore giving the finishing touches to the operating system ahead of this release next week.

iOS 15 is obviously a massive update, and it’ll bring plenty of improvements, including a new notification system that makes it easier to manage notifications from the same app.

It also includes substantial goodies for other apps pre-loaded with the OS, including Apple Maps. For example, users relying on Apple Maps for navigation will be provided with 3D imagery, though this feature will initially be offered on iPhones exclusively, with the CarPlay debut to happen at a later time.

iOS 15 to go live for everyone next Monday

“iOS 15 enhances the iPhone experience with new ways to stay connected, and powerful features that help users focus, explore, and do more with on-device intelligence. FaceTime calls feel more natural with spatial audio and a new Portrait mode, new Focus features help users reduce distraction, notifications have been redesigned, and Live Text uses on-device intelligence to recognize text in a photo and allows users to take action,” Apple said as part of the iPhone 13 announcement.

In addition, the Weather and Mail apps are also getting new capabilities, and Wallet adds support for home keys.

iOS 15 will be available for iPhone 6s and newer, though it goes without saying that a latest-generation would benefit from the smoothest experience on the new operating system.

If you want to try out iOS 15 today, you can download the existing beta builds, which are already pretty reliable, though you should keep in mind this is pre-release software coming with an increased likelihood of bugs on all devices.
