Apple has just released iOS 14 developer beta 7, and this is believed to be one of the last preview builds of the next operating system before the public launch later this month.

In other words, we’re literally just a few days away from the moment Apple will push the go-ahead button for iOS 14 for users and developers who are not part of the beta program, so this new release is getting us a lot closer to the Golden Master that should land any day now.

However, expect a public beta 7 to land in the coming days as well, as this is the typical approach that Apple users for testing builds.

iOS 14 coming later this month?

As per Apple’s typical release schedule, major iOS updates land in September and are usually announced at the iPhone launch event taking place during the same month.

There’s one problem this time though. Apple is believed to be pushing back the launch of the new iPhones due to issues caused by the health crisis, so instead of September, the new-generation model could actually go live in October, with sales to kick off in November.

So the big question is what is going to happen with iOS 14? Will Apple launch the operating system update in September as per its typical calendar or does the company plan to hold it back and release it together with the new iPhones?

Some say the OS update would go live as expected in September, though this is obviously yet to be confirmed. If Apple does plan to hold an event this month, the company should start sending out invites sometime very soon, so expect more information on this to surface in the coming days.
