Intel today announced the 10th generation lineup of Intel Core mobile processors for laptops and 2-in-1 devices, which promises double the performance of previous models.

The tech giant continues to improve its Intel Core lineup of mobile processors, which are used all over the world in numerous laptops from various manufacturers, including Apple's latest MacBook models. Dubbed "Comet Lake" the 10th-generation Intel Core mobile processors come in i3, i5, and i7 variants with up to 6 cores, and double-down on performance promising increased productivity and multitasking on everyday use.

From multitasking to everyday content creation, the newest additions to the family scale performance for even higher levels of productivity," said Intel's Chris Walker, Vice President and General Manager of Mobility Client Platforms in the Client Computing Group.

Key features of the 10th Gen Intel Core mobile CPUs

Intel's 10th-generation "Comet Lake" mobile processors feature up to 6 cores and 12 threads, up to 4.9 GHz max turbo frequency, and up to 12MB Intel Smart Cache for the i7 model, configurable up to 25W for maximum performance for the Intel U series, configurable down to 4.5W for 4-core fanless designs for the Intel Y series, up to 1.15 GHz graphics frequency, and LPDDR4x, LPDDR3, and DDR4 memory with speeds up to 2666 MT/s.

The new 10th-generation Intel Core lineup also comes with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) wireless chipset with WPA3 security support for faster and more secure Internet connections and broader scaling of Thunderbolt 3 ports with up to 40 Gb/s data transfers. They take advantage of the super optimized 14nm process technology to offer a gain of 16 percent overall performance and more than 41 percent better productivity and multitasking.

Lastly, the processors feature the Intel Adaptix Technology for longer lasting standby for faster wake, also enabling support for multiple built-in voice assistant services. Additionally, the Intel Dynamic Tuning technology lets OEMs tune the processors to provide their customers with up to 12 percent more performance. According to Intel, the "Comet Lake" 10th Gen Intel Core processor family will be available later this year with more than 90 additional designs.
