The TalkTalk data breach timeline and subsequent evolution

Details about the TalkTalk data breach seem to surface daily, and it's becoming quite hard to keep up with the news, the false reporting, and the silly things the company's CEO sometimes says.

Courtesy of the guys at Barricade, an Irish-based cyber-security platform, we now have more specifics about the breach, neatly arranged into a colorful infographic, where you can revisit the data breach's timeline and properly digest what happened, what was stolen, and how many people were affected.

As for the identity of the attackers, we reported when British police nabbed the first and the second suspect, but after the arrests of the third and fourth "alleged" hackers, we tuned out of all TalkTalk-related news.

This was probably because the whole thing seemed like the cops were just grabbing everyone they could, left and right, and weren't actually convinced they got the actual culprits behind the attacks.

UK Police is not saying anything right now, still being in the middle of an investigation, but they could be gracious enough to specify if the four arrests are because TalkTalk was hacked by a group of attackers, and not by a lone wolf, as initially presumed.

One interesting thing that was made public since the last time we reported on a TalkTalk news is that the investigators concluded that the data breach took place because of an SQL injection.
