Cybercriminals lure victims with convincing message

With increasing reports about iPhone 6, cybercriminals have already started to profit from the news and lure in their victims with fake emails announcing that the device has been released.

The messages purport to come from [email protected] and use a subject line saying that the device has been released by the Cupertino company.

The crooks have gone to great lengths to make the emails seem legitimate and included different images of the device, along with a brief description touting the new features.

The text presenting the iPhone 6 has been crafted to mimic the flamboyancy expected from Apple. “Bigger display, transparent mode, better cloud integration. Shoot, edit, and share video like never before. Slimmer, faster and sleeker. Discover many more features that make iPhone 6 the best iPhone yet,” the fake messages say.

An iPhone fan may discard them as spam, despite the fact that the cybercriminals included specifications that have been circulated by the media. One clue for spotting the deceit, apart from the dubious domain name of the phishing site, is that Apple has not even confirmed the launch of the device.

According to online reports, leaked images with the parts purported to be used in iPhone 6 have just begun to emerge, and mass production may not have even started.

Apple is expected to introduce the next version of the device as early as September, so the wait is not over. In the meantime, stay tuned to channels bringing official news about iPhone 6 developments.
