Apple will make only a handful of external tweaks, oomph more noticeable on the inside

The “champagne” iPhone 5S is all but confirmed at this point, but the leaks continue to abound in the days leading up to Apple’s (rumored) September 10 event, where not one, but two new iPhone models are expected to launch.

TLD has obtained the “champagne” iPhone 5S chassis, which is visibly more chic than the current silver and slate models, and much closer to beige than an actual golden hue.

The author of the video embedded below only had a chassis to play around with. However, placed side by side with an iPhone 5 enclosure (complete with parts), the differences start to become evident.

For instance, the 5S chassis seems to be crafted in such a way as to accommodate a smaller logic board, which leaves more room for a bigger battery.

Several screws and ledges are placed differently as well, although the exterior of the phone looks nearly identical to the current generation of iPhones.

One noticeable difference on the outside can be spotted in the camera array where an elongated LED flash hole makes room for an additional lighting module (as previously rumored).

Aside from these minute differences, other upgrades are said to be the A7 processor, a (rumored) fingerprint sensor underneath the Home button, a better camera, and greater storage capacity (128GB) for a high-end model.

The iPhone 5S is the successor to the iPhone 5. Apple is likely to sell the 5S at the same price point ($199 / €199 with a two-year contract) as the iPhone 5, but the company also reportedly plans to introduce a cheaper “iPhone 5C” model which will mark the discontinuation of the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5C will effectively replace the iPhone 5 by offering the same A6 processor, camera quality, screen resolution, and everything else that the iPhone 5 has at a much lower price point, according to reports.
