Ad network Chitika rolled out a new report revealing that iPhone is already accounting for 3 percent of all mobile web traffic, overtaking its fiercest rival, Samsung Galaxy S3.

Although it’s still a newcomer on the mobile phone market, iPhone 5 is growing impressively fast in the mobile web traffic chart or, at least, much faster than its rivals. Samsung Galaxy S3, which arrived in late May, has only 2 percent of the mobile traffic.

As a matter of fact, Apple as a whole is making up for 46 percent of the mobile traffic, while Samsung and its wide family of products gains just 17 percent.

According to TechCrunch citing the aforementioned report, Chitika conducted this study by analyzing millions of mobile ad impressions during a 7-day period.
