Apple take-back program causes concern among iDevice owners

iGO is scrambling to keep customers aboard in light of Apple’s take-back program for iPhone chargers, assuring users that “its Apple-Certified products provide the safest, best in class charging experience possible.”

You can’t blame Apple for posting those scary memos about third-party chargers. After all, anyone would rather pay more for an original piece than get electrocuted.

But you can’t blame the likes of iGO either, because some third-party vendors do sell high-quality charging gear, and some of them actually have certification from Apple. This makes for a conflicting marketing.

But iGO Director of Marketing and Product Strategy Jack Hampson says he understands the public's growing concern for “sound and dependable consumer electronics,” and therefore explains that “iGO customers are not only provided with the best in quality, but undoubtedly the safest chargers available on the market today.”

The company stresses that its chargers have Apple's official Certification Label stamped on them and, even more, “exceed the mandated safety requirements currently imposed by Apple.”

iGO chargers also feature protective circuits that “safeguard against sparking due to faulty wall outlets.”
