The Samsung Galaxy S20 is currently one of the best the South Korean phone manufacturer has to offer in terms of Android devices, but this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a flawless device.

And a bunch of unlucky buyers know this best, as the Galaxy S20 has started experiencing a mysterious issue that has the camera glass experience cracks of even shatter all of a sudden.

Users who turned to Samsung’s forums claim they never dropped the phone and the cracks appeared out of nowhere, with someone even explaining that they woke up to a hole in the camera glass.

Several confirm they reached out to Samsung but the South Korean firm refused to fix the device under warranty because the issue is cosmetic and is subject to physical damage.

Issue not covered by warranty

Others, however, believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be covered by warranty and call for Samsung to fix the phones they paid more than $1,000 for.

“I have only had my phone for 2 weeks and have experienced the same issue. I have a very thick case on my phone as well, but the camera protrudes so much that setting the phone down on the table could have caused my camera lens glass to crack. Since the back glass and camera glass are all one peace you will need the buy the entire part,” someone says on the forums.

“Samsung employees admit this is an issue but will read off the same script telling you that its your fault and that you will need to pay to get it fix.”

Samsung hasn’t issued an official statement until now, but given the number of reports pointing to this issue is increasing, expect more comments on this in the coming weeks.
