Those of you who don't own Grand Theft Auto IV on either of the two digital distribution stores – Steam and Rockstar Games Store, will be happy to know that the game is once again available for purchase.

Two months ago Rockstar removed the game from Steam due to the fact that Microsoft no longer supports the Games for Windows Live service. Grand Theft Auto IV for PC was specifically developed with Microsoft's service in mind, which means that Rockstar can't generate additional keys for those who buy it if Games for Windows Live no longer exists.

It took Rockstar two months to fix the problem, so if you're missing one of the greatest games of all-time, now would be a good time to address the issue. More importantly, Rockstar announced that current owners of Grand Theft Auto IV or Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City on Steam will see their digital versions updated to GTA IV: Complete Edition in their Steam library, which includes both titles.

Also, the game will be available as Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition going forward, so you won't be seeing titles like Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City on Steam or Rockstar Games Launcher.

Furthermore, Rockstar revealed that as a result of the update Games for Windows Live will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition. Those who own Grand Theft Auto IV or Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City won't have to do anything to get Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition, their games will automatically be updated to the new version in their Steam library.

Last but not least, players who purchased a physical copy and still have the activation key from the back of their manual can add the title to their Rockstar Games Launcher Library via the Rockstar Games Launcher.
