Google is expected to unveil the new Pixel 3 phones on October 9, according to a new report, with sales to begin later the same month in some specific markets.

While specifics on availability haven’t been disclosed, Bloomberg writes that there’s a good chance October 9 would be the launch date of the new Google Pixel 3. People with knowledge of the matter pointed to October as the unveiling month of the new phones, so this new report does align with the information we already had.

Most likely, Google will begin sending out press invites for its October 9 press conference in the second half of September, shortly after Apple takes the wraps off its new iPhone generation on September 12.

Despite being one highly-anticipated product launch, especially among Nexus and Pixel enthusiasts, previous leaks have revealed pretty much everything about the new-generation Google phones.

One of the most controversial changes that Google prepares on the Pixel 3 is the introduction of a notch, a design element that Apple itself has introduced on the iPhone X and which would make way to all iPhones this year.

In typical Pixel fashion, there will be two different configurations available to buyers, namely a standard Pixel and a Pixel XL, and both of them will run the new Android Pie unveiled by Google earlier this summer. As for hardware, the two devices are expected to launch with a Snapdragon 845 chip possibly paired with as much as 6GB RAM.

In terms of cameras, Google won’t go for the already widely-adopted dual-camera configuration but would instead use a single lens. Google is expected to bet big on software optimizations for camera performance.

Full details will be unveiled at the October event, but expect more information to make the rounds as we approach this moment and the company starts sending out press invites.
