The company delays the June 3 Android 11 event

Google was expected to launch the very first beta of Android 11 next week, but the company has recently confirmed this isn’t going to happen right now, as it decided to push back the release.

The official Android Developers Twitter account shared the news this weekend, telling users that the Android 11 beta, as well as the June 3 event, have been postponed to a later date.

“We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon,” Google explained.

As you can see, the search giant hasn’t shared any specifics as to why it decided to push back the release of the first Android 11 beta, but on the other hand, figuring out what happened really isn’t rocket science.

iOS 14 beta also coming soon

Not only that Google is one of the companies trying to protect everyone during the current health crisis, but the recent protests caused by the death of George Floyd are also generating chaos in the United States, so there’s a chance the search giant just wants to wait for a later date for the whole thing.

Also interesting is that Apple is also expected to release the first beta of its next major update in the next few weeks. The Cupertino-based tech giant will discuss iOS 14 during WWDC in June (which has already been moved online due to the health crisis), with a public beta likely to go live shortly after the event.

Apple hasn’t shared any information as to whether it’s considering a possible delay of the first iOS 14 beta, so for the time being, we can only assume that everything’s going just as planned for the iPhone maker.
