Using a magnetic puck at the other end though

Google is finally making a smartwatch, and while the company only said that the device is going to see the daylight later this year, the community out there is continuously scanning the web for additional information about this highly anticipated product.

This time, 9to5Google has come across FCC listings that reveal three model numbers, namely GQF4C, GBZ4S, and GWT9R. Of course, these don’t necessarily reveal a lot of information at first glance, but upon further inspection, it’s been discovered that one of these models could come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, whereas the other two might feature LTE as well.

More interesting is that the Pixel Watch could require a USB-C charger.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the case for the end that connects to the watch, as the device will rely on a magnetic puck similar to the one already being used by other devices, including the Apple Watch.

However, the connector at the other end of the cable will be USB-C, as compared to other devices that continue to use USB-A.

Another very interesting tidbit is that one of the suppliers involved in the Google Pixel Watch project is none other than Compal. If you’ve never heard of them, you should know that Compal is a long-time Apple supplier that has been making the device since the Apple Series 1 and 2 many years ago.

Google has so far remained silent on certain essential data regarding the Pixel Watch, but without a doubt, all this silence fuels the excitement for a product that was originally supposed to launch many years ago.

For the time being, however, it’s better not to take everything for granted, especially as Google can change certain Pixel Watch features overnight, just in case it comes across problems that would be too troubling to deal with in the long term.
