Google has finally released a highly-anticipated Google Chrome update that allows iPhone users to activate a dark theme on iOS 13.

As the majority of iPhone users probably know by now, iOS 13 comes with a built-in dark mode that switches the entire system to a new style. The visual update also includes first- and third-party apps when a dark mode is available, so developers need to update their apps in order to achieve this consistency and come in line with iOS 13.

Google needed approximately one month to roll out such an update for Chrome browser, so you need to install version 78.0.3904.67 to get it on your iPhone.

Other improvements in this update

The same version comes with a series of other improvement, including the ability to add a new credit card directly in Chrome from the setting page. This should make shopping online more seamless, as credit card information would no longer be required for input every time you buy something online.

Additionally, once you install the latest version of Google Chrome on an iPhone, bookmarks, recent tabs, and reading list should be displayed as cards. This feature is exclusive to iOS 13, just like the dark theme.

Google Chrome is keeps evolving with every update on iOS, and new releases typically bring substantial improvements in terms of new features, bug fixes, or usability. The previous version, for example, brought new controls to clear browsing data from a specific range of time, such as the past hour or past day.

This is an option inspired by the desktop version of Google Chrome, and it’s without a doubt a welcome addition to the iOS feature lineup as well.

You can download the latest version of Google Chrome for iOS from the App Store here and update to iOS 13 to enjoy the new dark theme.
