The waiting times for a new device extend to 2023

If you want to get a new iPhone 14 Pro this year, you’d better not order it from the Apple Store. This is because the waiting times have reached an incredible point, so right now, it’s pretty impossible to buy your iPhone online and receive it by the end of the year.

CultOfMac has noticed a substantial increase in waiting times for both the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Ordering the two devices today means you’ll receive them in early January, with the current estimates pointing to January 6 as the date when the shipping could occur.

On the other hand, if you can’t wait until then, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus are both available for next-day delivery.

Apple confirmed the problems

In a November 6 announcement, Apple confirmed inventory problems for the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, explaining that getting the devices before Christmas could end up becoming a challenge. Now it’s pretty clear that such a thing is impossible, especially as the company’s main supplier in China has been struggling with the COVID restrictions and the local protests.

“COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain,” Apple said.

“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”
