The update implements new Film Simulation modes and more

Fujifilm has rolled out new firmware packages compatible with one of its latest its digital cameras, namely versions 2.00 and 4.00 targeted at GFX 50R and GFX 50S cameras, respectively, which add Low Light Priority AF-S mode, improve Face / Eye AF detection accuracy and stability, and more.

Specifically speaking, the current updates add new Film Simulation modes (CLASSIC Neg and ETERNA / CINEMA), include the Smooth Skin Effect featured on the GFX100, and promise that more applications will support the import of rating information, assigned in camera.

In addition to that, both versions increase the maximum number of photos that can be saved in each folder on an SD card, display color temperature values in White Balance setting, and include other improvements as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

With this in mind, save the downloadable package, transfer it onto a formatted memory card, and insert the card into the camera; power on the unit, press the “DISP/BACK” button to display the current firmware version, select “Ok,” confirm the item as “Body,” and agree with the next dialogs regarding the upgrade process.

The installation process should take roughly 90 seconds to complete, and if this takes longer, please be patient and do not turn off the camera or remove the memory card. Doing so can cause serious problems or even render the camera unusable.

Once completed, it would be a good idea to remove the SD card used in this process and check the device’s current firmware version to ensure that the upgrade has been successful.

That said, download Fujifilm GFX 50R Camera Firmware 2.00 or download Fujifilm GFX 50S Camera Firmware 4.00, carefully apply it on your device, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
