Getting an iPhone 13 these days is still quite a challenge, as the device is almost nowhere to be seen, with the waiting times sometimes reaching up to 2 weeks.

This is because of the component shortage that has impacted pretty much everybody, with Apple working around the clock on dealing with this problem as soon as possible.

In the meantime, Apple’s partner Foxconn is getting ready to begin the mass production of the iPhone 13 at its factory in Chennai. A report from the Economic Daily News reveals the first iPhone 13 made on Indian soil will see the daylight in February, with the operations to then gain more pace in the next few months.

Foxconn’s Indian output is going to help Apple align its iPhone 13 production with the global demand. The devices that are assembled in India won’t be aimed only at the domestic market but also at international customers.

It’s believed up to 30 percent of the iPhones that are built in India end up being sent to other countries, and this number could be increased this year as Apple struggles to reduce waiting times for the new generation.

Very busy 2022

In the meantime, Apple is also getting ready for a very busy 2022, as the company is expected to launch a new iPhone SE model in the spring, followed by the iPhone 14 lineup in the fall.

The iPhone 14 generation will include four different models, though the mini form factor would get the ax this year. Apple will therefore introduce the typical 6.1-inch iPhone alongside an all-new 6.7-inch iPhone Max, while the Pro lineup will comprise the same two version as the current generation.

The Pro models could also come with substantial design changes, as Apple might eliminate the notch and go for a punch-hole display.
