Epic Games announced in a tweet on Fortnite's official Twitter account that Android Beta of Fortnite is now open to everyone having a compatible Android device.

To install Fortnite on your Android device, you can go to the "Get Started" page for Android where you can quickly get the game by scanning a QR code.

As described on Fortnite's FAQ support page, Epic Games recommends you to install it on devices running Android 8.0 or later, with at least 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, or Mali-G72 MP12 or higher GPUs.

Although Fortnite for Android can also be run on previous versions of Android, you might experience significant performance and stability issues.

The Fortnite for Android Beta was released on August 9th on select Samsung devices, with invitations sent to a limited subset of Android device owners from a wide range of handset manufacturers.

Fortnite for Android reached 15 million players while still in Closed Beta

"In the first 21 days since the Fortnite’s launch on Android, interest has been extremely high, with over 23 million players entering our Android beta and over 15 million players installing our APK," said The Fortnite Team on September 6.

As stated in Epic Games' Fortnite Android Beta report, there were a lot of technical problems the development team had to deal with, considering the quite large number of device vendors and Android's highly fragmented ecosystem.

Throughout the Closed Beta stage, The Fortnite Team had to optimize Fortnite for different SOCs and Android OS variants modified by each vendor to suit its devices' specific hardware needs, as well as for custom power management settings and different graphics chips for the same CPU.

In the end, Fortnite for Android's Closed Beta stage provided enough lessons about performance, security, and device compatibility for The Fortnite Team to make sure that everything will work as expected once the Open Beta stage starts.
